The Evidence Bureau

Identify checkable claims, assess whether sources support them, and decide what to keep, qualify, correct or remove.

Fictional case. You are the researcher at the Riverside Learning Commons, a fictional community learning centre. An AI assistant has drafted a briefing for tomorrow's board meeting on the Saturday Homework Club. You have the source pack, and your job is to audit the draft.

Step 1 of 6

Your task

Start by saying which claims you would rely on. Then audit them one by one: find the passage that bears on each, say what you found, and fix or remove what needs it. Your finished briefing then goes to the board.

A reminder of the method

AI systems produce text that fits patterns in what they learned, and that text reads fluently whether or not it is right. A claim is a statement that could be checked. Evidence is what lets you check it.
